After breakfast, start your Holy Journey to Mata Vaisnodevi Darshan. Mata Vaishno Devi temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Shakti and is the second most visited religious shrine in India after Tirupati Balaji Temple. Trek to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine (14 km), ponies can also be arranged by self (at your own cost) for the trek, return back to Katra late in evening/night Dinner and overnight Hotel in Katra.
After Breakfast, proceed to Patnitop from Katra. Patnitop is a hill top tourist location in Udhampur district on the National Highway1A, on the way from Udhampur to Srinagar. Patnitop is a distortion of the original name of “Patan Da Talab” meaning “Pond of the Princess”. In olden times a pond existed in the meadows and the king’s princess often used to have her bath there. Proceed for local sightseeing which includes Nag Temple and excursion to Nathatop and Sanasar, Dinner and overnight Hotel in Patnitop.
After breakfast, depart for Pahalgam. (2440 Meters above Sea level). Drive through the green pine forest and along theLidderRiver Pahalgam is also famous for Indian film Industry (Bollywood). After breakfast the day is free to explore Lidder valley at your own or you can :- Option 1. Visit to Aru Valley which is a small village, 15 km upstream the Lidder River, The route is picturesque with ample campsites. This village is the starting point for treks to the Kolahoi glacier. Option 2. Vsist to Chandanwari, 16 Km which is the starting point of sacred Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari is famous for snow sledging on a snow bridge, Enroute you can visit Hajan, an idyllic picnic spot and Betaab valley where the famous Bollywood movie Betaab was shot. Option 3. You can enjoy leisurely walks in pine forest along River Lidder and enjoy picnic on riverside. Option 4. You can enjoy pony ride to Baisaran meadow, surrounded by thickly wooded pine forest and snow-capped mountains. This grassy glen offers a panoramic view of Pahalgam town andLidderValley. Morning after breakfast full day excursion to Yusmarg. Yusmarg is a small meadow set in the heart of mountains to the south-west of Srinagar. It is an ideal picnic spot and the Nilnag Lakecan be visited from here. This grassy meadow is ringed by forests of pine, and towering beyond them with awesome and majestic snow clad mountains. Nearby are several peaks-Tatta Kutti and Sang Safed to name a couple of them. About 13 kms from Yusmarg, a short detour away from the Srinagar road, is Charari- Sharief, the Shrine of Kashmir’s patron saint Sheikh Noor-ud-din or Nund Reshi, now rebuilt after the devastating fire of 1994 which engulfed the entire building. Full day excursion to Alchi and Likir Gompas. Alchi is about 65 kms from Leh situated in the vicinity of Saspol on the left side of Leh-Srinagar road acrossIndusRiver. Alchi is very famous for its wall paintings. One must take a torch to see the paintings in dark rooms, as there is no light. Likir Gompa lies on the right side of Leh-Srinagar road about 4 kms from the main road and is famous for numerous Thankas.
